The AI doesn’t care about the festive period and wanted me to finish strong. Today was 7 x 5’ VO2 max work. The long HIIT alternate. I do these outside as repeats on a local hill.

What’s great about outside is that you aren’t staring at a time, waiting for it to end. You’re taking in a familiar hill and landmarks.
I always use the first ascent to assess where I’m at. See what effort will work as repeatable for the number of intervals. The last ascent I let the leash off a little. I gave blood on Christmas Eve. This is my first high intensity since then and it went well.
