Swimming speed check

Hello community,

I find the following training extremely difficult to handle (moving up and down in swim speeds without actively checking the tempo)

Next training as an example;

  • 100m L3a
  • 150m L3b
  • 100m L1
  • 200m L3a
  • 150m L3b
  • 100m L1
  • 1′ rest between reps

This is a workout which I cannot “Workput Wizard” to get it a somewhat more overseeable workout.

What is a good way to go about this? My biggest annoyance is the unavailability of tracking my speed in the water, whilst this is key to the whole workout

Do you have a pool clock? I glance at the clock when I start and then check the time after each step in the progression (its a bit of math in the water but it makes it go by quick). I also think the point of the set is to develop your RPE of each step, so if you don’t have a clock, or want to look at a clock, then you can go by feel…

Good point. Think I’ll go for RPE, as it’s indeed the point of the whole training.
