Longer rides during weekdays

Hi there. Enjoying Athletica after a few weeks of structured training with the program.

I have a question about longer rides on weekdays. Anything beyond 90 min is quite impractical with my schedule, but the workout wizard doesn’t seem to suggest shorter alternatives.

Should shorten my weekday rides to 90 min and lengthen my weekend rides to catch up? Is there any other solution that you would suggest?

Darn that lack of time thingy. Wouldn’t life be much more enjoyable if we could have 36hrs a day :sweat_smile:

Maybe, maybe not.

Just do what can do. 90mins is great. :+1:t2: Lengthen rides during the weekend if you can and if it serves your goals. And let go of the rest. :blush:

Follow up question I guess is - could a longer z2 workout be theoretically replaced by a HIIT session?

It sure can @Francois and do check workout wizard for that option. Usually its shorter. Just be mindful of the added stress that comes from the HIIT format.

To my earlier point, that’s why I’m surprised that the workout wizard doesn’t offer any shorter (HIIT) options. In fact, the interval ride offered as an alternative to my prescribed 1:45 weekday ride next week is actually longer than the original.

I edit them before loading them in Zwift (the XML is simple). I usually do that when the WU or CD is loooong. Otherwise, I use a tab during the workout to go over some sections if I am time constrained. A wizard option would be great.
