Hi guys, yesterday I participated in an online “Round Table” with other cycling and triathlon coaches. I presented the ATHLETICA triathlon and cycling training plan, and they questioned the distribution of the workouts throughout the week, in particular.
BIKE Tuesday STRENGTH LOW CADENCE Wednesday VO2 max
RUN Tuesday Low cadence Wednesday Aerobic Thursday VO2 max (after two days of loading)
Swim Wednesday Aerobic Thursday STRENGTH Pull Paddles Friday SPEED.
According to some of them, the VO2 max should be done fresh and the Low cadence the following day.
Honestly, I’d also prefer a reversed order, but I’d ask @Prof or @Marjaana what do you think? What’s the reason for this order?
VO2 max → maximum quality → requires fresh legs
Low cadence → stimulates strength endurance → even when fatigued

As we say @Giuseppe85 … lots of ways to skin the cat. You can adjust that to your liking. I could say the exact opposite to you in different contexts with different athletes I’ve coached.
VO2max - stimulates VO2 targets - even when fatigued.
Low cadence - requires fresh legs for maximum effect.
You have the control.

Si in effetti ad oggi sia io che alcuni atleti che conosco o che alleno trovano più efficace fare VO2 Max il giorno dopo una sessione "attivante " ma non tassante a livello muscolare.
