Hello - just joined but can I please join the time constraints beta? I also can’t find the percentages references either above or in another thread which might have helped. I’m swimming with a coach and masters and want to set so the days always align, and set a light/rest day. Thanks much.
Hello @Prof . Would you please add me to the beta? Thanks!
@kimberg @wilcoxa35 … welcome to beta team
Thanks much. Love the support here.
Hi @kimberg … this should be fixed now. Please check.
Will do; waiting for the other pair workout question before I try tweaking anything again lol. Thank you.
All good, worked today. Thank you so much.
Hi everyone, we are slowly but surely refining our “time constraints” user experience and functionality.
Right now we are trying to map out the right visualization/interaction and have done a wireframe/mockup of what this might look like.
The first image is the basic version where you can select min/max time and sport for each day of the week.
The second image is the “advanced setting” (toggled on/off in the top right) where you can select min/max time by sport with multiple sports each day.
You can see a short video of how the interaction would work.
It would be great to get any feedback on whether this would solve most of your needs in setting regular sessions and durations by sport. We’re trying to strike a balance between simplicity for all users and robustness for more advanced users.
Please feel free to comment and suggest any changes that might be helpful with the above in mind. Thank you all so much.
The interface looks very clean!
Are the units for the values limited to whole-number hours? Fractional hours or minutes would be useful in cases where swimming might be limited to 45 minutes for example.
Outstanding. Thanks very much for the continued progression on this front! Will be interesting to see how the constraints here are fit against the optimal loads from a chosen plan.
This looks so much better, more intuitive and user friendly with more capability. I couldn’t figure out how to make a day a rest day in a straightforward way for example, here it seems pretty obvious. Love the update!
This is not trivial and one of the key reasons why this innovation has taken so long to manifest. The optimization problem goes next level when you add constraints… kudos to @Andrea and his team…
Quite like it, though I think, what you choose in the basic view should reflect what is available to change in the advanced view.
For example, in the video linked, on a Monday, you chose only Bike and Swim, but when switching to Advanced view, all types were available to change the times of, where for me, the ones not selected in basic, should be greyed out with a checkbox to enable them again, to reflect what was chosen in the Basic view.
I would say to not show them at all in Advanced view in this scenario, but then, if you use Advanced view by default, there would be no way to to turn disciplines on and off.
Main thing for me overall, is having that ability to turn a discipline off completely (for me, often that is strength training), rather than having to hack it in setting by setting the max to 1 minute.
Hello @Prof!
Could you please add me to the beta program as I would love to help with developing the program how’ve I can!
Thanks in advance!
Hi @fekieser,
Absolutely I will get to this. Unfortunately we’ve had to put a pause on our beta group. No one can move in or out at this point in time as we have a major infrastructure update ongoing at this point in time and our beta team (thank you everyone) is still reporting in a few issues with zone/threshold updates and the likes. Once we are stable again and have rolled out this release for all I will come back and add you. Thanks for your patience.
This proposed UI looks great!
I might be missing something, but I think this proposal doesn’t add any functionality? If this is adding functionality, can you point out what that functionality is?
-
would it be possible to add half hour increments? not the end of the world, but a nice to have
-
as commented above, hopefully the current options are shown when opening up this “panel / interaction” (and also maintained switching in between basic and advanced functionality)
The piece that’s missing for me is choosing an intensity for certain days of the week. Admittedly, being able to move workouts around accomplishes this (so it’s not a need-to-have, but a nice-to-have), and I don’t know how challenging it is to implement, but I have found it helpful in some platforms to choose either a) the days for longer workouts (a la TriDot), or b) associate certain days of the week with intensities / HIIT workouts.
@Prof I had forgotten about this. I added in the days and what I would like to train in and my plan never got updated, I did go back and make changes to the timeslots etc but the actual training plan never takes the days and time limits into consideration.
Not a big deal as I got used to doing the plan as defined by athletica but maybe this is something you would like to look into as why athletica never generate a plan for my profile based on the days and time I setup.
Thanks for noting @fbashir … I’ve flagged your profile as one we need to check on.
I’d also like to try it because training for triathlon but not swimming over the winter. Also have some fixed days to work around as a lot of amateurs have I think.
