The last few days I’ve been getting a red triangle on workouts saying I should move or delete some sessions. I feel generally okay and dealing with a calf injury… so already skipping/changing run sessions to injury options BUT find it a little odd I’m given the choice to move/delete some workouts.
Since I am using an AI coach… I’d rather it just be canceled or moved on its own. Feature request?
But regardless, my recommendation is to go off of feeling. It’s a nice warning to evaluate your training, and is sometimes correct that we need to dial down, but if you feel fine go ahead and do the workouts. I would rather have the option to self-evaluate than have it delete the workout on its own since it takes a much more conservative approach (with the understandable goal of minimizing risk of overtraining and injury, especially where non-experienced athletes might be concerned).
The AI coach doesn’t know how you are actually feeling though. The numbers don’t always match how your body is handling the training.
I always take it as a warning to listen to my body more before or during that session and be prepared to change it to a recovery walk or stretching session if I feel too fatigued.
If the AI coach just moved it or deleted it then you may undertrain, and if it didn’t warn you then you risk overtraining.
With a human coach, if they saw those numbers they would have a chat with you about how you’re feeling and either adjust the plan or stay the course depending on your answers. That’s pretty much what is happening here.
