Beta Program Daily time availability & constraints

Hi @Prof I have been struggling with AI to fit into my constraints. I am on a mid-volume but for some weeks i am getting too much hours and especially during the week i am unable to do enough. @Marjaana tried to help and suggested that i use the daily time availability - could you please open this functionality for me as I don’t see it now. Thanks a lot!

Hi @LeoIacovone as you can read above we’re struggling with ironing out some bugs in our new system so we’re not adding any beta users at this time. Hopefully this feature will get sorted and move to full release soon.

Thanks for your reply - I look forward to this because for now i am forced to have to manually drop workouts but not being an expert it is hard if i am dropping key workouts or not - it is hard because i come from a marathon background and it is the first time i am training for a iron-man.

Hello @Prof,

I’m in the beta programme and currently struggling to set up a proper marathon training plan.

I don’t know whether I’m doing something wrong or if there are bugs in the new functionalities, so I recap below the main issues:

  • despite having set “Recreational” as Experience Level I’m being proposed a High Volume plan. The first version of the plan I got was unrealistic for my fitness level in terms of number of sessions per weeks and duration of long runs (up to 40/45 km in some days)
  • so I used the new time constraint tool to set for each day the maximum time available. Having read other posts on the topic I tried to set simple limits (i.e. 75minutes for week days and 2:30 hours for long runs on Sundays, leaving Saturday as a rest day)
  • I have last updated the settings yesterday and and I waited until this morning to check the updated plan. The result is that: (i) in several days I see 2 relatively short training sessions planned and I don’t understand the rationale because they are mostly the same (e.g. for March 17 I have 2 Aerobic Development session, 35’ each), (ii) Saturday is left as rest day, but on most Sundays I see 2 sessions planned (so it seems that the session planned for Saturday has been moved to Sunday), (iii) S&C sessions seem to be randomly planned, because in some weeks I see 3, in others 2, 1 or even 0.

@ANovelli I tried ‘setting hours’ and then turned down the total training hours. That seemed to generate a mid volume plan. Please let me know your thoughts.

@Prof did you guys re-enable some of the beta run power settings in the last day or so? When I accessed the full site this morning to check my plan, I had a notice that my run power threshold had been detected, which I’ve not seen before. Especially odd coming after a day with no running!

I got a new running power threshold as well. Now I have to see if it’s using my Garmin running power number or Stryd running power number (Hopefully Stryd).

I don’t know if it is back end changes, or the AI adapting, but this has mostly resolved for me.
All I’m having to adjust is the lengths of my swims and everything else seems to be formatted just how I hoped.

The new beta availability is ignoring

I have my availability set to have Thu and Sun as rest days. But this week I want Sat to be the rest day and Sun to be a workout day. I moved Saturday’s scheduled workout to Sunday. The AI engine has filled the gap with a new workout, rather than leaving it as a rest day. Even though I also have don’t modify sessions in next 1 day.

I read that the daily availibility should be available to everyone by now or am I wrong ? because I myself don’t have access to it yet.

Just in the final stages of release… we’ll make a large announcement once deployed.

may I be able to get the Beta Access before the official release ?

congrats on the new release with data availability!! I have one question - I cannot find how to set it up. I have spent few minutes searching but i could not find the option anywhere obvious. Anyone could help? Thanks!

Hi @LeoIacovone … you may need to log out and then back in again to see the changes. I just logged into your account and the options were available for me.

I haven’t even moved anything this time. This new workout has appeared this evening, after I completed my workout as planned at lunchtime.

I am going to ignore it, but it simply should not be adding a workout for current day, and certainly not a 3 hour one quite late in the day, and during a taper week. Same bug as above, but without me touching / moving any of the existing workouts.

Does the scheduling take into account a user’s time zone?

The weekly scheduling does look a bit off compared to how tapering weeks have usually presented. This is my first taper of this season.
