Hi! I’d love to be in the beta program too. Thanks!
welcome to beta @starcracker
My goal with this is to setup a plan where I bike 4 days and do strength and conditioning 3 days. I have some time constraints and would like sessions to be less than 90 minutes, except on Saturday where I can, and want to, go a bit longer (2ish hours).
I can’t get the plan working. I set some, admittedly strict (I couldn’t think of a simpler way), constraints and they don’t seem to have any effect. I get 0 S&C sessions, I get bike sessions on days where bike was not specified (do I need to set a ‘bike no more than 0 minutes’ constraint on these days?), and I get bike sessions longer than the constraints allow.
Constraints:
Bike session over time constraint:
<next post, I can only embed one image per post>
No S&C planned:
<3rd post, I can only embed one image per post>
I’ve tried clearing the plan and re-applying it a few times, always giving it 2+ hours (sometimes a couple of days) to see if additional adjustments are made. The current plan has been “complete” for about an hour now, so maybe in another hour or two I’ll see additional adjustments but based on my experiences I don’t think that will be the case.
Any help, suggestions, or guidance would be appreciated!
Which sport, volume and week please? With four rest days, Athletica would not prioritize s&c - time spent on the bike more important (if on cycling plan)…
MJ
It is a cycling plan, but I don’t understand the response. I don’t want 4 rest days. I wanted a plan generated with 0 rest days and this is what it gave me. I wanted a plan with 4 days on the bike and 3 for strength and conditioning.
Can you please share a screenshot of your constraints for me ?
It’s 3 or 4 posts up. I had to break my initial post up because I couldn’t include more than one image in a post.
sorry those slipped my attention. You’ve likely given too strict of a plan. I would suggest reducing with a heavy hand.
See if these comments help:
delete Monday’s “bike at least 45 mins”
keep Monday’s bike no more than 90mins. (likely the workout will fall into those time limits anyway.
S&C sessions are typically set to 30mins. If you have more time, then great, add a set. I would delete any restrictions with S&C
Try with these modifications and allow 24 hrs to regenerate and report back here, please.
If you only get two S&C - then copy one of the S&C sessions to your preferred day.
I am sorry you don’t have the freedom to instruct the AI to deliver exactly how you want it. This feature is still in beta, so please have a little more patience with us as we work to get this sorted for all.
Hope this helps.
MJ
Sorry @YellowCube … beta is for subscribers only.
Thanks for the guidance - this is exactly what I was hoping for. I’m ok with the feature being a beta feature and not being exactly what I want. And maybe my use case isn’t what it’s intended for I guess. I’d be happy to provide more details on how I’m trying to use it (to add seasonality to my training - I do anticipate that there will be long stretches of the year where I remove all constraints) if helpful.
Anyway, I cut the constraints in half:
And I still don’t see any S&C sessions
I’ll keep playing with it, and if you have any other suggestions I’m happy to try them out!
Thanks,
Jack
Ok that’s a bit better. Now, remove all constraints related to S&C.
you also have access to our S&C sessions from earlier weeks - save those to your library, then add them using the “add from library” icon at the bottom of each day. I know it requires some manual labor, but best I can think of while we wait for the constraints update to roll through.
Thanks, MJ
Works for me. Thanks @Marjaana ! Is this thread the best place for beta related feedback and issue reporting?
great, glad to hear you can work with that.
Yes, you can report beta related feedback here, or bugs in this thread
Best, MJ
Be mindful all on this thread that there is a delay or lag between the application and saving of your settings and the AI calculations. Remember that the AI isn’t just looking at your applied constraints - its still trying to optimize your fitness based on those constraints which you won’t find elsewhere (to our knowledge). This take heavy computational work which today requires time. Best practice is to apply your constraint settings, then check back later (overnight works best for me).
Plan isn’t applying the constraints. I’ve tried not to make it too complicated, and the below constraints WERE working for several weeks but something seems to have happened behind the scenes.
I can only swim on M/W/F and those sessions are an hour (I can sometimes go longer but can’t have it planned that way on weekdays) and have a FT job so limited total training on weekdays to 2 hours. However, my plan is meeting the 2hr constraint but is now leaving swims off the correct days.
Constraints:
Next week’s plan (I’ve manually edited this week’s), note swims on Tu, Th, and Sat, and skipping both the Wed or Friday prescribed swims:
Wait, is it happening because it wants to give me a swim longer than an hour so can’t on the prescribed days? Blerg.
That kinda makes sense but is confusing - can we please add a feature / version that just lets us say what days we want to have what kinds of workouts, w/o the hour/minute part?
Hey @Prof
I just discovered this thread here and I really like this feature. This is something I was missing as I try to train on a tight schedule. Can I please be added to the beta? I just signed up for a subsciption.
Thanks so much!
